Defining Moment

...arive, which is the Wailing Wall. When we started the ceremony I saw that every member of the family was there. Everyone was there to share the pride and watch me step into the next stage life. The first lesson came there. I had always heard my mom talk about how much she loved everyone in the family, but I had never actually seen what she was referring to. The moment I saw everyone gathered around me as I read from the Torah I understood exactly how she felt. I looked up from the Torah and saw everyone’s eyes focused on me. They were all so proud of me that I felt an individual connection with everyone that was present there. After that I looked over at my mom and gave her a huge smile. The smile symbolized the thankfulness that I had for what she had done for me. Another defining moment that I felt was when I met my aunt. I had never seen her in my life but I had heard plenty of stories about her from my mom. What I learned from my aunt was that she had moved to Israel when she was only sixteen and had started her life from scratch. Now she is a doctor, married and has three awesome kids who I played with while I was there. Another important thing that I learned about her was that she started her singing at the young age when she arrived in Israel. Now she has made a second career just from her voice.
