These are the questions I asked myself: 1. What is a Levite? 2. What is a Samaritan? 3. What was the relationship between Jews and Samaritans? 4. Was it common to clean wounds with oil and wine? 5. What was the worth of two silver coins? When I researched these questions, I got some general answers. However, the answers were good enough to get a better understanding of this point in history. A Levite is a member of the tribe of Levi. Levi was the son of Jacob who was the son of Isaac and Rebekah. In the long run, a Levite was Jewish. This shows that even a Jew wouldn’t help his or her own kind. Next, a Samaritan is someone from Samaria. Samaritans were despised and hated by Jews. Even though the victim hated the Samaritan, the Samaritan helped him. The final two questions were too specific to find answers to. However, I believe that I have a better understanding of the story because of my task of historical criticism. The plot makes more sense like this: 1. A man is a victim of robbers 2. A p...
