A Look Back
...r essay I had written about in the past. Which was good, because it made me really think about what I was writing, and in doing so I know greatly improved my writing skills. I knew that I had to come up with a strong thesis statement as well as pick a scene that would strongly support my thesis. After completing this essay I finally realized how important it is to support your thesis statement. I also enjoyed writing this essay because it opened my mind to two very important parts of writing that I had never been exposed to in previous writing classes. The first thing was the reverse outlining; I liked this because it allowed me personally to see the strengths, and weaknesses of my paper. I was able to go step by step through each part of my essay making sure my essay had a nice continues flow. Finally, I really enjoyed the use of imagery we were to include in our essays. In my writing I have always tried to catch the reader’s attention by my use of imagery, although in this essay we were to use much more detail in catching the readers attention. Especially, since we were suppose to include the use of camera angles, lighting, background music, etc. An assignment in which I struggled with was this last essay, and this is where the difficulties of taking an online class and not being able to talk with your professor face to face affected me. I knew that this would be a difficult paper to write because we were suppose to gather research and then incorporate that research into are paper. Unfortunately, I had not done anything like this since high school. What made this assignment even more difficult for me was, having to take both parts of the assignment and make them flow together. I also had to do a lot of reading on my own, and am not certain if I correctly cited my sources properly.
