...umans to there gods. The Mayans had many different gods for each and everything. The Jews only had one god that they worshiped consistently. Religion in a sense is what people hold on to so they can have self-comfort that there is some other place for human kind when they die. So many different beliefs came to being because of this powerful thought. People inevitably began to think a god or many gods created them. Like in Popol Vuh they were created from yellow corn and white corn. While in the Genesis creation story they were made from dust and given life with the breath of god. One of the most questioned stories was that of the Great Flood. Which was mentioned in both the Popol Vuh and Genesis. The one in Genesis being more vivid and detailed compared to the Popol Vuh story. Theses two cultures on two different sides of the earth still came up with similar a story related to the Great Flood. There are more differences between these two cultures that have yet to be told. In the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis it tales of how man and the earth were created from the Jews perspective. God first made the light as stated in this quote, “And god said, ”Let there be light.” After this he made the water and the sky, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” Then he made land, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” Next he created the vegetation and fruit for the land, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” After three days had passed and on the seventh day he created man, “So god c...
