The idea is that this is all done in the name of patriotism and nationalism for the better good of the entire country. But in order for people to oblige to such corruption (that is ultimately ideal for elite power), the mass media must be heavily controlled. People basically lose their rights. Labor unions are eliminated, while religion, and corporate power become entirely intertwined with the government. A vast unknown and unfaithful relationship with the citizens creates the undeniable fear in fascist states. To begin all this, an election will be held in order for the one party to be instigated. But this is usually just as corrupt and is made up of faulty campaigns, manipulation of numbers, and sometimes an assassination of the opposing candidates. All in order for the leader and his friends to be appointed without question. Fascism is an extreme form of government that places value on security of the state as a whole instead of the individual. We can see how this government works and was appointed in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Italy, had a popular desire for social order, strong leadership, and a restored from cities to farms. Italy suffered half a million casualties in the war. These war losses led to economic downturn, political strife, and inflation. This is why there were armed confrontations between peasants and landlords about how estates should be broken up within the state. In a time of social and economic unrest, Mussolini gathered war veterans and fought to obtain political power. In 1922, he got elected and afterwards the elections evolved to such corruption that it was impossible for Mussolini and his Fascist party to lose their seats. In 1925 Italy had an all Fascist government, and in 1928 there were only Fascist-approved candidates. “Fascism is reaction” Mussolini said, and its support came primarily from Democracy had failed and the French Revolution ideas were outdated. Fascism is class struggle and workers' internationalism as a threat. There is national unity, and the "new order" also clashes with the conservative, tradition-based tendencies. Fascism is right-wing radicalism that opposes liberal and democratic ideologies. After all this how Italy was doing so poorly as a state before.
