Libby breaks into Angela’s former place of employment, a school, and finds Angela’s records but not long after the police come and arrest her after a lengthy chase across the beach. Angela’s parole officer, Travis Lehman, comes and picks up Libby but on there way back they ride a ferry to cross the water and Libby escapes by driving the car into the water and pistol whipping Travis after she stole his gun. Libby escapes and visits her mom where she is given a truck and money after leaving her moms she finds her husbands new address and in the process also finds out that Nick is now Jonathan and before Jonathan he was Simon and that Simon had killed Angela Ryder who was once Angela Green, confusing? Jonathan is staying in New Orleans and is well known as a wealthy bachelor. Libby goes to New Orleans and buys Jonathan at an auction where she warns him and not soon after her Lehman comes and warns him too. Libby and Jonathan arrange to meet in a cemetery but Jonathan tricks her and attempts to kill her but is unsuccessful. After she escapes from Jonathan’s death trap she is apprehended by Lehman but they work together and get Jonathan on tape admitting to her murder which he thought was a success. Jonathan panics and attempts to kill Libby and Lehman but Libby kills Jonathan after he shoots Lehman. After all the chaos Libby is finally reunited with her son Maddie. The movie “Double Jeopardy” is a legally correct film. If this were to happen in real life Libby would get off on charges of murder. Early in the film Libby is told about double jeopardy by a fellow inmate who use to be a lawyer who tells her that if she were to walk up to her husband and shoot him in front of a room of people she wouldn’t be convicted and the inmate is correct. Libby would not be relieved of her other charges in the film like the destruction of government property, Lehman’s car, she would be tried and sentenced in court if found guilty.
