Like in World War II, Hitler wanted power to take over so he started attacking countries and taking them over to gain more and more power. Another reason that countries enter a war is to protect their country. For example, in World War II when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, after that attack the United States had to enter the war to keep their country safe. Peace, what is this word that we constantly here about. Is it that word that all the hippies say with 2 fingers in the air? Or is it that word you here in history class when ever a war ends. If this word is used after a war ends, then why do wars keep happening? Why doesn’t peace last? The reason that peace doesn’t last is because many governments are different, and some governments can’t deal with the power they have. For example, Hitler wanted more power and broke peace by invading other countries and taking over. Another example of breaking peace because of the desire of wanting more power would be Saddam Hussein. He used his power to break his peace by threatening to have weapons of mass destruction, and trying to invade weaker countries. Who knows if peace will ever actually happen, but as long as people feel safe that’s all that matters? When war comes men and women of the country volunteer their lives to go who knows where to defend our country. Why, why would anyone want to risk their lives for just a country?
