It includes South America, Africa, Antarctica, and Western Australia as well as peninsular India and parts of Arabia. The second one is Ordovician Period which formed 490-443 million years ago. That’s when North America, Europe, and Africa combined. Then low seas covered much of North America at the beginning of the period, then returned, leaving a thick layer of limestone. The third period is the Silurian Period which formed 443-417 million years ago. During this period the continents North American, Europe, and Asia were located by the equator. There was shallow flooding on the continents and when the ocean water left the continents it left salt from the water causing salt deposits, red beds, and rocks. The next period in this era, the Devonian Period, occurred 417-354 million years ago. The Appalachian mountains formed when Europe and North America came together.
