His love for daisy was so strong that he actually spent five years of his life doing anything he could to gain a respectable fortune to be accepted by her, even if it was illegitimate business. At the end of the book Gatsby and Daisy’s love affair is found out by Daisy’s husband, there was a huge argument and fight an finally daisy’s husband tom made it very clear she was not tot see him. Daisy went along with this but Gatsby’s love for her did not cease. He stilled pursued her and anticipated her call, this just shows how much of a hopeless romantic her was and what love means to him. Daisy is a materialistic rich snob basically describes Gatsby’s love, daisy. She is married to tom Buchanan and together they are a very wealthy couple. Daisy gets everything she wants and only cares about the price of things and what status comes with those things. Her materialism is shown in the book when she is in Gatsby’s room and he shows her the shirts of all different colors. In this scene she throws them all around in admiration then hugs them and cries. She cries because they are so beautiful, this is a great example of how materialistic she is. She also treats everything she loves as an object. In the story her daughter is primarily a doll to her; she is treated like a possession instead of a person. This factor of her personality is also shown to Gatsby. Daisy Gatsby and her husbands are all in the same room and Gatsby, makes daisy confess her “love”, when she does this Gatsby gets a feel of relief and that he finally got his grail. However a few minutes later after tom questioned Gatsby’s credibility daisy heartlessness came into play and she told Gatsby she loved both of them. After another argument daisy basically gave up on Gatsby and never contacted him after.
