The reason why is because the amount of problems they went threw with single motherhood was sadly not able to make any of the characters a stronger person but more like a sad and broken down person who is always looking for a form of affection in life. The relationships that they have in the book are more lust then love. When you look at a guy like Gabriel you can see women demoralizer. The relationships are never strong nor healthy so all it does is make life much harder for the person and when it all boils down they are just not prepared for such complications so the only thing that they can see out of this is problems. Which is a big responsible reason for the lack of love that takes place threw out the story. Because rather them receiving the affection that they want the ultimately settle there selves short which only hurts them more. One of the most important relationships of the book would be there connection with god. And based on that being said they all have a phony attitude towards god. The circumstances that they finically grew up in is another reason that touches on there sense of greed and why that they well always want more. When it comes down to self moralization they do understand and see what is going on that is wrong but yet continue to do so because that is there only escape route that they can think and one again by doing this they do not see the peoples life’s who they are messing up. Out of all the character the most deceitful characters would have to be Gabriel. The reason for this is possible the death of his mom but surprisingly. He is very inconsiderate towards others felling and by him doing this he has not only lied to god but to many women. Who were in sad points in there life’s positions in there life and were not able to see that they were being played.
