She also called pencil her old friend who is always there for her and can never be down like computers and besides that. Her essay is an opinion essay where she put all her opinions about the pencils together, although most of the people prefer using computers rather then pencils but she still sticks up to her own opinions and in her point of view the truth is that pencils are better then computers. In another essay ?Say Hi or Die?, the author made a comparison between the two cites; LA and Montreal. The author is a Canadian citizen and has been living in Montreal for a long time. In his opinion, Montreal is a safe place to where as LA is totally opposite to it, he says that you never know what?s going to happen to you on the streets. At one point, he stated, ?The sky here is always sunny but to enjoy the weather it?s wise to stay off the streets.? So it makes it obvious that there is a fear in his heart about the streets of LA and he thinks that you can walk on the streets of Montreal without any fear. He compares the crimes in LA city to the peaceful life style of Montreal and in the essay he also highlighted the positive things of Montreal and never went into any negative aspects and on the other hand, he pointed out all the negative points of LA and didn?t really wrote about the positive ones. So this proves that what people like and what makes them happy they think that its right and its true and it also proves that people have different opinions and to back up their point, they always use facts and different examples. In an essay ?Safety First, Fun a Distant Second?, the author went over the importance of safety. She added different situations that she had to face while she was at her sister?s house; at one point she said ?Get back, you are in the electromagnetic field.? In another paragraph the author stated, ?Sure we are living longer, but it seems longer, too. It?s hard to have fun when you are being careful. You can?t drink champagne on afternoon canoe rides any more, it?s the law. Heaven knows, you could pass out fall into lake and drown. You can?t feel crispness of wind in you hair while galloping through the meadows, or racing in the country roads on a 10-speed, because helmets trap are steamy, sweaty halo of dead air round you head.
