Once applicants apply for the job, their applications and curriculum vitas are compared to the person specification and the most suitable and experienced applicants are chosen and interviews arranged. The application forms should b specific to the role and ask questions that can build up a picture of the applicant and his or her skills and qualities, and how they would cope in a management role. A personal interview with a people from several departments should be organized. By making it a face to face interview, the appearance of the person can be seen and also their mannerisms and whether they would be able to control several employees can be decided. If employees from all departments are present at the interview, the decision can be shared and so the most suitable employee is more likely to be selected.
