...e lector to leave. The arrival of the new lector changes the lives of the workers. The principal actors in the show and the supporting players came together to form a strong bond between the actors, and the situation they were in. They used each others lines to create a stronger for them selves, which was really good. The sets, costumes and lighting add to the effectiveness of the show by it showed us the time period they were in. How the people lived during those times and that in factories people had to roll cigars by hand. Lighting showed us who to focus on, and when the scene is more dramatic the stage is all lit up, but while the scene is more emotional and passionate the lights dimmed. The sound also add effectiveness of the play, by it made the audience either say “aww” or it made the audience tensed, wanting to know what is going to happen next. The gun shot definitely scared me; I wasn’t expecting any of them, which was good it made a play even more exiting. The character I found most interesting was Marela, by Vanessa Aspillaga. She was just amazing, so emotional, and straight forward about her feelings. Marela was able to express her self so clearly, on what she wants, and how she feels about it. When she was crying in the end, I also wanted to cry, I believed everything that was happening to her. She was like a child that wanted everything her own way, and had to ask for everything. She had false hope in her and the lector which she knew nothing was going to happen. Her character was truly outstanding. The relationship in the play that I found most interesting was between the lector, Conchita, and Palomo. In the beginning Conchita showed no interest for the lector, but in the end she is the one who had an affair with him. Palomo didn’t show interest in his wife Conchita before he saw his wife and the lector having an affair together. It made him realize that he wants his wife, the affair brought Palomo and Conchita closer together. I found this relationship interesting because it showed a side of jealousy, and when you lose something you realize how precious the thing you lost was. After the show, when we got to meet the actors was amazing, I was like oh my! Are they really talking to us? Meeting the actors and talking to them was an something new. It was incredible to actually see how the actors are after the show, and it was so nice of them to sit and talk to us for a couple of minutes even though they were really tired after the show. The Question and Answer session was really interesting. When I told Vanessa how incredible her emotions were and how she does it, she said she substitutes the moments with her real life. I also asked how they did the Spanish accents, and she told me you have to read the English lines with Spanish accents in mind. When John Ortiz told us he went to John Dewey, I was shocked how he made it so far and its all because he had faith in him self, and knew he could make ...
