Coda-children of deaf adults
... etc. All are welcome at CODA. I cannot imagine what it would be like growing up in a household who did not speak. It is completely different from you not being able to talk, because you can but you cannot communicate between your family members. It would be really frustrating and annoying. I cannot imagine not getting along with my family members and having to sign when I did not even want to talk to them in the first place. (I really do love my family but you get the idea!) what would it be like never to hear your mother or father’s voice? It would be so different from what I’m used to. But, that is the point, it is only different from what I’m used to. But not being able to vocally communicate can be conquered. The whole family would just have to invest their time into learning sign language, and have an honest want to learn the language in order to communicate with their family members.
