...hich the Medical Center includes centers for specialized case. The Heart and Vascular Center at the Medical Center is where I am employed. I will discuss the communication breakdown between management and staff. Communication is the dynamic structure between management and staff in which shapes and guides the progress and actions of the organization. I have encountered at the Medical Center a breakdown of communication between management and staff. The problems I have recognized are lack of communication to general staff members, ineffective training, and the inadequacy of honest and open lines of communication between supervisors and staff members. The success of a dynamic organization in inversely related to the quantity and quality of communication between management and staff. As believed by numerous staff members, it is communication that coordinates and not formal written procedures dictated by upper management. Problems arise within the organization when communication slows or stops and progress is taken for granted. Within the organization, problems are just excommunicated differences, in actions and expectations. This intense deliberate communication is itself a difficult task. It takes working hard and may not always end in positive results. Management must provide deliberate opportunities to the staff members to explain and notify of any problems unknown to management, but naturally they do not arise every time staff members communicate. Benefits from avoidance of misunderstanding achieved from effective and honest ongoing inter-personal communication facilitated by technology tools such as the Internet. Allowing management to use the Internet to communicate with staff members would make such a dynamic positive effect on the organization, which would prevent greater, later cost incurred from error correction. O f course the communication needs to be timely and truthful for it to be valuable. Management should allow the valuable information to be proactively stated, discussed openly, honestly and fully disclosed. Within the organization, there should be regular broadcast news and information in the form of email messages updating the staff members on how the center is improving and the latest developments.
