Discuss the relationship between the human environment and the natural environment.

...ample to grow crops and food to eat or vegetables you have to have a piece of cleared land which obviously therefore results in the cutting down of trees and soil erosion. Farmers made the problems worse because they took fresh lands where the trees and plants are in very good conditions. Nowadays humans more use machinery than natural resources and this results in pollution (air and sound). Unfortunately in Malta nothing is being done to help the situation of environment in Malta which is in a very bad condition. Pollution is a big problem to the environment. Machines, factories, power stations are few of the resources that cause air pollution and some also sound. The sea is also being polluted from these resources too. Global Warming which is another threat to the environment is a term denoting the accelerated warming of the Earth’s surface due to human activity-related releases of greenhouse gases due to industrial activity and deforestation. Global warming can create: • Sea levels will rise as the polar ice caps melt and the oceans warm and expand which then if the water warms more that the normal climate the sea creatures will be affected. • There will be a decrease in rain and more heat will occur which then results in large fertile lands to become desert. • Climate changes; where the rain is scarce, rain will become common and where rain is common, it will become scarce. • Because of temperature increase more diseases are spread. A bigger problem relating to the environment is waste. Waste is a product which is created as a result of another activity. Landfills can be either open spaced or engineered where waste is put. In Malta we have a very big problem the Mizbla tal-Maghtab. Waste can be classified according to the material and to the place of origin. These are different types of waste: Inert waste does not undertake physical, chemical or biological changes and does not pollute e.g. rubble and concrete. Recyclable waste consists of material that can be re-used e.g. paper, glass, plastic. Organic waste consists of eco-friendly material that can be decomposed to form compost e.g. food, paper food leftovers. Hazardous waste is considered as flammable, toxic, explosive and infectious. Therefore they are the most dangerous to the environment and to the people e.g. hospital waste, chemical waste from industries. These are different types of waste derivation: Construction and demolition waste results from quarrying, excavation works, road works and obviously demolition and construction of buildings. Municipal Solid waste consists mostly of the domestic waste. Street sweeping, school waste, office waste, small factories waste and more. Industrial waste is generated from factories and hotels and restaurants. To try and solve the waste problem we need to try and reduce the waste for example instead of using disposable glasses we use glass ones (Domestic) and adopting cleaner technologies and more efficient machines (Industrial). We need to try also to reuse because we are saving natural resources which would otherwise be used to produce new produ...
