II. Use in Medical Procedures: A) Medical procedures and maneuvers used to be longer and much more difficult without the use of the laser. B) The laser beam makes medical procedures less risky and more promising by making the operation time less, making the incision multiple times smaller, the laser can make blood clot more quickly, the laser beam can seal off blood vessels which reduces healing time, lasers are much more accurate then a scalpel, and the heat from the laser sterilizes the incision area. C) The uses in medicine are varied. The laser is used in different eye surgeries, various types of cancer, removing tattoos and birthmarks. III. Making modern Science easier: A) Science has now become more accurate in its measurements and techniques. B) Scientists are now able to take measurements of many objects or distances much more quickly, accurately and easily. C) The scientist can now measure tree heights, land elevations and just simple objects like a pen with a laser beam. The distance is now taken everyday between the moon and the earth with lasers. The accuracy of the laser beam is an enormous amount higher than that of the ruler or other measuring objects, and lasers are the most effective detectors of certain types of air pollution. IV. Making communication much more broad and advanced: A) The laser beam has started to replace traditional communication wiring systems.
