Graham uses many different colors in all of his pictures, and they seem to always be tooken in light. There is always lighting coming out of every angle. Deobrah Luster started to take pictures after her mothers death when Deobrah was twelve. Luster desires to capture the inner spirit of her subjects. She likes to explore the nature of her portrait photography, describing each image with an oral story or litaerary connection. Her portraits are both personally experienced and imagined. Luster captures the individuals behind the barbed wire and prison cells. She creates images which show men and women whose cockiness, yout, and shyness are imbedded in current tiny-types. She believes these her pictures teach and help us understand who we are. After Luster photographes her pictures, she prints them on aluminum, and then layers them with some paint. In her picture "Our Big Self ", she uses 5x4 aluminum and the coats it with with a liquid emulsion. After she is done witht her prison pictures, she writes information about them on the back and places them in large black steel cabinets. She takes all her pictures with a medium format camera, and she alsouses a plastic diana camera to create a bullred image. She doesn't have much lighting in her images because her background is black, and it makes her subjects stand out without light glaring down on it. Melisa Ann Pinney provides portraits of American girls as they make their way from babies to adulthood. Pinney's photographs are based on her own experiences. From when she had to fight for everything she wanted, to political views. In most of her pictures she uses her daughter Emmas childhood, and follows the complex profile of girlhood and young womanhood. She has shot many differentimages of her daughter and young women. She's tooken pictures of her daughter ingaged in a coversation with her friends, she's took a picture of a young bride receieving help from her mom and...
