...advice centre, Recognizing the problem that foreign women are often particularly vulnerable to violence on the part of their partner because their right to reside in Switzerland is linked to the duration of their marriage with the violent spouse, Realizing the importance of prevention of violence against women, Realizing the need to increase the awareness of violence against women in the global world, Realizing the need of dealing with the women being abused physically or sexually at home and through the cooperation in the United Nations, 1.Recommends that special health care department with health care providers be established in every cantons, a. Health care providers should be the ones in a close contact with victims and deal with the problems exist in them. They also provide supportive, nonjudgmental care to victims of violence. b. Each health care provider should be educated about physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and explore their own biases, fears, and prejudices. c. Health care department should be linked with different departments to ease the process of solving the problems that the victims have, because physical or sexual violence may lead to psychological (such as depression, low self-esteem) and physically (such as severe obesity, permanent disability) problems, which need the help of professional, such as social workers, doctors, d. Among all health care providers, there must be one or two leaders that manage the department and supervise the providers. e. Apart from dealing with the victims, health care providers should take the lead in encouraging those who refuse to seek help to try to speak out their problems and experiences, because owing to retribution, economic support, children concern, social stigma, many victims are afraid of telling the truth and still live with abusive partners. f. Health care department should take a close relation with the police so as to ensure the safety of the victims and reduce the risk of murder after separation from abusive partners. g. Respect the privacy of victims of rape by not printing their names without their permission. 2. Calls for the setting up of Centre for Women Care, mainly hold prevention work towards the problem of violence against women, a. Education on human rights, especially equality of men and women, should be taken by the trained workers in the Centre. This can change traditional minds that men can occupy women. b. Centre for Women Care should emphasize the importance of family care. As most of the abuser are the members of family, this centre should take the lead in dealing with the conflicts occur in families and maintain a good relations between the family members.
