Anaya depicts stupidity as a from that blinds others from the positive morals. For example When tony’s class was performing the play, all of the other kids were messing around and were not letting others concentrate in their part. Due to the stupidity of people, many ca be insulted without them realizing what they have caused. Also due to their stupidity people can commit horrendous crimes. In this story the stupidity of certain people affected others and soon it backfired on them. A good example of this is when the Trementina’s sisters were messing around with evil and at the end they were the ones that died because of it. A good quote for this is, “You have done evil, but good is stronger than evil, and what you sought to do will undo you.” Anaya is trying to let us know that stupidity can keep you away from all of the nice things in life. The author reveals that education is what you need in order to succeed and have a good life. Due to education, young people have a chance to get positive things out of it. For example they have the chance to learn and become educated. They also have a chance to make it in their workplace and live a better life than those who are not educated or ignorant.
