For example the skills center was cancelled so I didn’t have to go but I would have been at the school for the rest of the day from 10:50 till 2:30 doing absolutely nothing. Since I had a cell phone I was able to call my dad and tell him that I had got out early and needed a ride home. Another example of a cell phone being useful is when you play sports, and you thought that you wouldn’t have practice on that certain day. An emergency practice was called and you would have used your cell phone to call your parents and tell them you wouldn’t be coming home. Cell phones are useful in times that you have to reach someone else. Parents by there children cell phones so that they can be in contact with them at all times. Even if they never used the phone it is just that security that you are always 7 digits away from your child. During that massacre at columbine, I know if I was a parent and just heard about that, I would want to call my child right away and make sure they weren’t one of the ones who were injured.
