... of America endured the most horrific catastrophe in American history on September 11, 2001. It was the day the American people were faced with one of the most devastating emergencies their country had ever seen. This was the day that four Middle Eastern terrorists boarded our commercial jets, hijacked them, and flew them into the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Brave passengers in a fourth jet overcame the hijackers, which caused the jet to crash in a forest in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. This flight was believed to be destined to crash into the White House or Capitol Building. The actions of the brave and noble passengers on this doomed flight ended with hundreds of lives being saved, knowing their own lives would be taken for their ultimate sacrifice. We ask ourselves, “why did this happen in the first place”? It happened because these evil and warped terrorists used and abused our everyday American way of life to carry out their cowardly crimes on humanity. Their beliefs are against everything America stands for; in one word, “Freedom”. We can clearly define the word “terrorism” as the use of violence...
