Willy’s ‘Dream world’
...model to his sons, it was something that he could brag about and would inspire them the way his father had inspired him. Although after many years, Willy has failed to reach the top. He didn’t want that with his son, so instead Willy tried to forget that all together. What if Biff had stayed and lived with his family, maintaining a reasonably good paying job? Things would be a lot different. But Biff didn’t want to; he alleged that he was made for the farm life. So, he left. His father had little respect for him after that. That’s Selfish of Willy. Think about it, your son doesn’t do what you want him to do, he wants to do what he wants to do, so he pursues it, and you get upset for that? That’s not right at all! Willy is jeopardizing his relationship with his son. Or so he thought. I mean you never know what your going to get in life, you have to enjoy it as it’s handed to you. You have to feel good about what you can do for yourself before you can try to help others as much as you may want to. Willy Loman tried too hard at that. The more freedom you give a person, the closer to you they’ll be. Willy had a tough time dealing with Biffs absences to the family, although he didn’t show it. Then one day he comes back from the farmland country to see his family. One of the first things that Willy said to Biff when he got off of the train was, “are you making any money?” (15) All that Willy seems to think is important is money. Without money he will cease to exist. No man can have a family and be respected without money in his pocket, oh no sir. Willy Loman believed that he could not leave the world the way he came in. Other wise you weren’t worthy of being here in the first place. A mans’ job is to go out into the world and succeed in all that is right for him. And to be taught that we are not afraid. We are superior on this planet and dominate our manly hood and have to make one another look good one looks bad, than we all look bad. Willy had it bad for living in a dream world, and was mixed up with all these confusing phrases that he was so convinced helped to create the perfect world. Little did he know, before he found out the truth that, there is no such thing as perfect! What parent wants nothing more in life than to see there children succeed? I would say the majority. Life is too precious of an entity to waste nowadays. “Oh, that son-of-a-bitch ...
