Of Mice and Men Movie Review
...scene. Like when they first enter the bunk house, it shows the big card table in the middle of the room, which is one of the things Steinbeck describes at the beginning of chapter two. This is one of two categories that I thought the director did a great job at doing. Another thing the director did effectively was portraying the books theme which is that every one should feel belonged. In scenes where the theme is stated he makes sure the viewer hears exactly what is said. For example the director made sure that every thing in the scene was quiet when Lennie said “you got me, and I got you, that’s what we got”. The quietness kind of highlights that statement because there is no background sound like in other scenes. Even though the director did a perfect job in both of these categories, doesn’t mean that he did a perfect job in the last category. But, one thing the director didn’t do as effectively as he could have was, choosing the right actors to play George and Lennie. I thought George was too tall and Lennie was too short. I imagin...
