My Bedroom

...the bedroom, a pattern on the walls begins to emmerge. A lattice of white on green. The pattern makes me reminisce about country fences and gives a cozey, homey feel. The carpet begins to feel warmer as you approach the space heater along the wall at the foot of the bed. Finally, in the deepest inner sanctum of my bedroom, at the furthest corner of the house, lies my bed. A cozey hide-a-way from all of life's challenges. Receeding into the covers the last thing I glimpse is a street light infront of my house. A symbol of the world I need no longer worry about as I close my eyes. When I come in the door, I begin the long journey to my piece of heaven. Through the constricting doorways and the white savannah kitchen. Down the hard, rough stairs at the opposite end of the house and through the unfinished basement back to the front of the house. This is my bedroom. The walls are lined with a colourful array of books on shelves stacked tightly together like logs of a log cabin. The floor is cold under my feet but the earthy green paint on the walls fills me with warmth. Two small windows peer out into the dark, starlit street. As I wander deeper into...
