All About Glass
...magnify microscopic things, or just to make windows for our cars, glass is used everyday. This article pertains to chemistry because it describes how glass is made, by combining certain substances and mixing them together to make something new. It explains how you can add boric oxide to make heat-resistant glasses or add chromium and copper to make green sunglasses. It also tells the heat at which it needs to be at and the atomic arrangement. A glass is rigid like a solid but has atoms arranged in a random fashion, which is a characteristic of a liquid. This all has to do with chemistry. This article is interesting to me because it tells you how glass can be made. I did not know how exactly glass was made and how it all was discovered and it is really fascinating. Have you ever seen an iceberg, let alone one that’s green? For years people of Antarctica have reported seeing green icebergs, which many argued that green wasn’t the true color, only an optical illusion.
