Jay Chandrasekhar, who also co-wrote and co-stars, directs "Super Troopers.” Of the troopers, there's the leader Thorny (Chandrasekhar), the rookie Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske), the moron Farva (Kevin Heffernan), the slightly insane Mac (Steve Lemme), and Foster (Paul Soter), who has a crush on a local female cop played by Marisa Coughlan. Brian Cox plays the troopers' exasperated boss. Super Troopers is one of my favorite movies because it was directed, written and casted by five good friends playing five close friends, who remind me of my friends and I. While developing the characters, the script came first, then the casting. So in the end every one seemed to be drawn to a particular character the reflected their personality.
