As I began, I began to realize to responsibilities and tasks of a real volunteer. As my first assignment, I was led to room 603 and introduced to Mr. Anthony M. Lay. He was an older man who was very sick and as told by my instructor, needed a mostly a person to talk to and share some time with. At first, I was confused when I was informed that my duty with this man was to simply be his friend.
