This censorship led people to go on by themselves, and find information or other sides of issues, and somehow displays them to the public. The tree of Cracow, became a place where such ideas were displayed. Though this place was filled with illegal books, but it showed different views of people. This is one example of how people strived to achieve more information, and become more aware of what is going on in the world. One example according to the article pertained to Marie Anne Legendre Dablet who started to receive reports from servants. The fact and all information was gathered, and sorted by what was believed to be true or false. This directly was on e of the first instances of reporters and a new system of gathering. The enlightenment was a time focused around people with ideals that most people could relate to. Voltaire once said, “I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it.” This was important to the people because it would show that people really cared for their thoughts and ideas. Voltaire stated that he would hear people’s ideas out, before making conclusions. He was inspirational for people to voice their opinions openly. During this enlightenment era, people were encouraged to speak up and state their opinions loudly. As more ideas from Enlightenment came, the less the censorship came into play.
