As an angry, raging mother, she attacked the mead-hall and took Hrothgars advisor Aeschere. Along with Hrothgars consultant, she took Beowulf’s arm off the wall. Grendel’s mother was also considered malevolent; she lived in a cave in Oates 2 the bottom of the swamp. Her home was a grotto deep underground, which was thought to be like hell.
