As Dunny gets older you can tell that his views on life have changed dramatically, almost like he is maturing and seeing the real world. Religion is a very big piece of the lives of the town’s citizen’s, and to go against religion was a bad thing. After reading this chapter I have realized that it is not so slow and boring of a book after all just maybe the first couple 20 pages or so but I think I am going to enjoy this book more than I thought I was going to. 2. My predictions for the following chapters is that I feel Dunny will like his life on the pedestal of being a war hero. I feel like this is what will happen because as I read chapter 2 there seem to be tension between Percy and Dunny, not only within the military but with Leola. Dunny seems to be very daring, to join the army so young and be able to live through it is one thing but having to live through it afterwards is another. That is something that will take place later on, remember the war and its horrors. My favorite part of the novel well this part of it anyways was when Dunstan went on his last mission for the army, it was very interesting and the way he described it was very clear it almost made it seem like I was there. Dunstan tries to make the right choices for him and others around him I can tell that he will be content with the rest of his life. 3.
