...son tours Europe -July 16, 1857 Jackson gets remarried to Mary Anna Morison. -April 30, 1858 Mary Anna gave birth to a daughter, Mary Graham, the baby died less than one month later. -November 1859 Jackson stood guard at the execution of abolitionist John Brown. -April 21, 1861 The VMI Corps of Cadets were sent to Richmond to help train new army recruits, Jackson was in command of the cadets. -April 27, 1861 Jackson took command at Harper’s Ferry where he organized the troops later known as the “Stonewall Brigade.” -July 1861 Promoted to Brigadier General. -July 1861 Fought at the battle of 1st Manassas where he acquired the nickname “Stonewall.” -October 1861 Promoted to Major General. Placed in command of Shenandoah Valley. -1862 May - June Jackson carried out a brilliant campaign against the union forces. -1862 June 15 - July 1 Seven days battle Jackson was ineffective as a leader and was sent back to Shenandoah. -1862 June - September Jackson’s forces participated in the battles of Cedar Mountain, Clark’s Mt., 2nd Manassas, and Antietam. -October 1862 Jackson was promoted to Lt.
