...my childhood. We moved around because we kept getting behind on the rent, and it became too expensive to have an apartment of our own. We moved in with other families to share the cost and sometimes there were even three families sharing an apartment. In the second grade my mother sent us to live with my father. We lived with him for 2 years and then moved in with our grandparents. My father often left us there with only my grandmother to care for us weeks at a time.
