Mazus Atreides and Gankaku Fukien are your parents! No wonder you were in the army at such a young age, you two must be very skilled. Your father’s are famous because they were the two who ended the war. Genkaku was a brave man, did you know that he and your father Jowy, were best of friends?” McDohl asked. “No, I never even knew that they even knew each other because when I introduced my dad to Genkaku when I asked him if I could train with him, my dad had an angry face on and said that I could if I co-operate with him.” Said Jowy. “Yeah I know, I saw that too, our fathers’ were very good friends,” said Trance. “Yeah, even though they were friends, they were fighting for different sides. Genkaku was fighting for Republica and Mazus was fighting for Highland. At times of war, they would get their unit and just sit own in the middle of the battlefield and have a cup of tea. But war raged on and the two kings, Agares Blight of Highland and Watari Kaku of Republica settled a dispute in Jowston Hill in Muse city. Agares wanted to sign a peace treaty, Watari didn't. They then got one of their best fighters, on the Republica side was Genkaku and on the Highland side was Mazus. Each of the kings then gave their sword to the fighter and the battle started, Mazus raised his sword ready to fight, but it didnt look like he wanted to. Genkaku just stood there tall and brave, he didnt raise his sword even though Watari kept on shouting, 'Raise your sword traitor'! Genkaku wouldn't raise his sword no matter what, he knew that the king of republica was secretly coated with poison, so Mazus ran to Genkaku with his blade up and put it against his throat and there it was final, Highland won and so the peace treatywas signed, Genkaku was then banished from Republican cities, so his only choice was to live in Highland." "So that's why we lived in Kyaro," said Trance. "Your father Jowy, was a great man also, he served the king of highland to the best he could, when he heard that Genkaku was moving to kyaro. He decided to leave Syndonia and move to Kyaro too, Jowy, your father was a loyal soldier and he wouldn't betray his country, he's a great man," McDohl explained. "Wow, my father wa a great man, I never knew anything about him really," said Jowy. "Well it's getting late, you two should get to bed, today was a long day,so you two should get some rest," said McDohl. "Thanks for telling us about our fathers'," Jowy and Trance said that the same time. During the night, Jowy woke up and woke up Trance. He then went to the door and used the pin he found in the cellar to pick the lock of the door. The door swung open and they dashed up the stairs, across the room where the stairs, were a pair of guards, gaurding the exit. Jowy then pulls out the oily rag and lit it on fire with the flint, he took the firing rag and threw it across the room and it set a table on fire. The guards that were guarding the stairs and exit quickly ran to the table and tried to estinguish it, so Trance and Jowy thought that going straight out by the exit was too risky so that ran up the stairs onto the third floor. They looked around the third floor and found a door that lead them to a balcony, so Jowy pulls out the rope and ties it the the balcony railing and then they climbed down. They ran through the forest pass until they reached a lush green valley of swaying grass in the morning sun. Jowy ran across the field with Trance following and they came upon a village, it looked like jowy been to the village before, "This is Crom Village, afamily here saved me when we jumoped off Rakutei Mountain, they took me into their home and nursed me back to health, i left my staff there, so let's go," Jowy said, "oh yeah, they have a seven year old daughter named Pilika Ayda," he added. They walked by inns, armories, and a pharmacy until they reached Pilika's house, Jowy went up to the door and knocked, Pilika then answered and yelled out, "Uncle Jowy you came back!" as she jumped into his arms, "Who is this?" she asked. "Oh Pilika, this is my friend Trance,"said Jowy. "Hi, uncle Trance!" pilika yelled out with a smile. "Hi, nice to meet you Pilika,"said Trance. Pilike welcomed them into her small two bedroom home and lead them into the kitchen where her parents were, "Hi Jowy nice to see you again,"Mrs. Ayda said, "how are you feeling now?" she added. "Oh, I'm doing fine Mrs.Ayda,"Jowy answered. "This is my friend Trance if you were wondering," He added with a glistened smile. "Hi Trance, if your a friend of Jowy's then your a friend of my family's," she told him with a smile. "Thank you and it was nice to meet you," he said quickly. "Where's Mr.Ayda?" Jowy asked. "He's of protecting the great stone shrine in our village." said mrs. Ayda. "Hey Jowy, Trance can you come to my room for a minute, I've got to ask you something," Pilika said. "What is it you wanted to ask us Pilika?" Jowy asked. "Last week I went to Tinto city and we walked by an antique store, Then I saw this beautiful wooden amulet, I wanted to get it for my daddy because it's almost his birthday and I was wondering if you guys can go buy it for me. I'm too young to go alone and mommy is very busy," Pilika said, " here I've got fifty potch, can you please buy it for me?" she asked. "Sure Pilika, anything for you and your family, right Trance?" Jowy said. "Right!" yelled Trance in enthusiasm. "I'll need my staff, just in case we run into any trouble, and since those pack of Mercanaries took Trance's Tonfa, I have to protect you too,"Jowy said. "Let's go already Jowy," Trance said. Trance and Jowy then headed to Tinto City by foot, they crossed Yaza Plain until they came across a vicious fox-like monster, "That's a Shadowfox,"Trance said. "Ok Trance. now step back." Jowy said taking out his staff. The monster quickly dashed across the plain and pounced on Jowy, but he quickly raised his staff and fell to the ground with the Shadowfox's sharp watery fangs around the staff. Jowy then pushed the Shadowfox off of him and got up, he ran to the fox and swung his staff with great power numerously hitting the fox and injuring it. The fox then ran away whimpering, "Alright! Let's go Trance," Jowy said. They finally reached Tinto City and walked into the antique store, they went up to the counter and asked the salesperson how much the wooden amulet cost, "It's 200 potch." said the salesperson. "Pilika only gave us 50 potch," Jowy said. "Well ok we'll pay the rest, right Trance?"he asked. "Ok, 150 potch isn't that much."Trance said. So they quickly baught the wooden amulet and left the city to return to Crom Village. On their way back, they saw a tramendeous cloud of smoke comming from the village, they ran as fast as they could across Yaza Plain. They got to the village, it was burnt down to ashes, people dead, and a river of blood soiling the ground, "Who might of done this?!" said Jowy. Then a wounded man from the village crawled to Jowy's feet and started whispering, "A cruel man did this, it was...it...Luca," then the man fell to the ground lifelessly. "Luca, you scumbag! Why this village?" Jowy talking to himself in anger, "The people, the animals and my friends!" Jowy yelling in pain. East of the two boys, they heard yelling and crying, so they raced there and they found Pilika sitting inside the stone shrine crying, "Pilika! What happened here? Tell me!" Jowy yelled. "Well...a bad man came into and daddy told me to hide, so I hide really good so no one can find me and i hear people screaming, when i came out, I see mommy, daddy, and friends not moving, Waaaahh!" Pilika screaming. "That devil, I won't forgive him for what he's done!" Jowy said. "Trance, Jowy, do you wish yo become stronger?" a mysterious voice whispered. "Yes!" Trance and Jowy yelled out. "Then head to the end of the shrine and read the tablet so we can meet." The Mysterious voice said. So the boys went to the tablet and saw that Genkaku wrote a note and then a bright light surrounded the boys and they appeared in a different part of the shrine. They walked through the shrine until they came to a section of the cave where there were 2 paths and a lady in the middle of the paths, "I am Leknaat, protector of this shrine and holder of the Gate Rune. I am here to grant you two with great power, now pick different paths." "Ok Jowy, I'll take the left path an you'll take the right path," Trance said. "Right," Jowy agreed. So they walked to the end of each path and each of them lead to a different rune, "Now raise your right hand and create your own destiny. Trance you have recieved the Bright Shield Rune and Jowy you have recieved the Dark Blade Rune, noe go to Muse because I see Victor and Flik's fort has been burnt down and they are headed there, i think you should join alliances with them." Leknaat said. Leknaat then teleports them back beside Pilika and she disapears. Jowy picks up Pilika and heads to Muse City, They were headed west through Yaza plains again, Finally they've made it to Muse,We've finally made it Pilika, trance, It's been two days, but we're finally here, " Jowy says. They heading into the inn and they saw Victor and Flik sitting down at the table drinking sake. Trance, Jowy and Pilika walked up to them and Trance asked them, "Hey, do you have my tonfa with you?" "Heh, you two boys again. Yeah we have your tonfa, but you guys better promise to help us out when we need it." said victor. "Alright, but you better not double cross us like Luda did to my friends!" said Jowy. "Yeah, he did that to us, burnt down our fort and killed our men, he didn't even flinch when he killed them!" yelled Flik hitting the tble with his fist. "We have a meeting with the queen of Republica, daughter of King Watari, Annabelle today," Victor said. "Want to come Trance, Jowy?" he asked. "Sure, but Pilika..." said Jowy. "Dont't worry about it, Leona our maid will take good care of her, right Leone?" said victor with enthusiasm. "Yes sir," answered Leona. Then the guys left the inn and headed north on the inn and came upon a tramendous sized mansion. Victor went up ti the big door and knocked on it. a large man opened the door and greets them, " Hi, Victor, Flik, nice to see you again." "Hey, nice to see you too Jacques," said Victor. Jacques welcomed them in and head them to Annabelle's office," Oh, hey Victor, I wasn't expecting you this early," she said. " Jess we can have this meeting conversation later," she told him. Jess leaves the room and Vistor, Flik, Trance, and Jowy sat down and started their conversation, "WEll nice to see you again victor, Flik," she said, " and who might you two be?" she asked. "Oh, this is Trance, son of Genkaku, and this is Jowy, son of Mazus," Victor said. "I see, sons of royalty and I see they have their fathers' runes too, very interesting." Annabelle said. " Why are you two here?" Annabelle asked the guys. "We are here because of Luca Blight, he was on a rampage burning down the eastside of Republica. He's already burnt down my fort, Crom Village, Moravia, and Drake Mouth Village," Said Flik. " We Have to do something to stop him and quick!" he demanded. "How horrible, I hear he set camo above our boarder, north of here," she told them. " I have important information to tell you Victor, Flik. Will you boys leave, you can wander my house, but don't cause any trouble," said Annabelle. Trance and Jowy left the room and wandered through the house, thay entered a library full of books and a couple of people sitting at reading. They left the library and walked around the drinking room. They overheard two men talking over in the other room, Trance and Jowy entered that room and it looked like a storage room. They saw the two men and quickly hid behind a shelf full of spices. At a quick glance, they discovered it was Jess with an unknown man. "So what do we have here Kirkis?" said Jess. "We have two highland suits, but they seem too small for us. We need people a bit smaller than us," replied Kirkis. Trance and Jowy's legs started to give out because they have been standing for two straight days. They didn't get to rest on their way to Muse from Crom Village, so they collapsed over a sack of rice. "Hey, what are you two doing here? Get out of here!" yelled Kirkis. Trance and Jowy quickly turned around and started to run, but were stopped by Jess. "Wait? You two come here, " yelled Jess. "Hmm...try these suits on and let me see if they fit." Trance and Jowy did as they were ordered and tried on the suits. Jess noticed that the Highland suits fit them perfectly, so he asked if they would like to do a mission for him, "Trance, Jowy, I would like to ask you if you could sneak into the Highland camp, North of here, above our border. If you will do it, I'll inform the guard at the border at once, that you two will be there." "Trance, are you for it?" asked Jowy. "Let's tell Victor and Flik that we'll be going on this mission first," said Trance. "No! I mean no one should know that we're sending you boys there, so will you go, on your own will?" asked Jess. Let's go Trance, all we have to do is sneak into their camp and see how much food they have left so we'll know when they'll start their attack," said Jowy. "Well," Trance thought, "if you think it's ok and you'll be there with me Jowy, okay let's go." "Okay, I'll inform the gaurds at the border to expect you two right away," informed Jess. Jess quickly ran out of the room. Trance and Jowy took the suits off and put them in a bag and Kirkis lead them out of the town. Trance and Jowy quickly headed North of Muse, through a valley of lush green grass, colourful, blossoming flowers, and a long, wide dirt trail leading to the border which separates Rockaxe town and Muse. They walked across the valley unharmed and approached the border. They walked to the border doors and saw two guards at each end of the door. "Who are you and why are you here?" asked one of the guards. "Jess sent us on a secret mission, he said he informed you two that we're coming," said Jowy. "Yes, right away," said the guard. The guards opened the gigantic doors of the border and lead Jowy and Trance to where the Highlanders were. They headed into the forest whee they set camp. Trance and Jowy crossed the forest and got stuck in a dead end. Until they saw tents and a campfire set up. Trance and jowy stopped and put on the Highland armorand they stated to walk into their camp. Everyone was in their tents, but one tent was heavily guarded. They walked up to the tent and they told the guards they were ordered by the captain to get a stick of butter. They were allowed into the tent to search how man boxes and sacks of food and water they had. "Hey, Jowy, I think they have a week supply of food, then they'll attack." "Yeah, I think that too Trance," said jowy. They quickly left the tent with a stick of butter and walked back to their escape route, but their olf commander, Clive, spooted them and out, "Hey, stop right there!" The boys didnt stop, they just kept on walking, until Clive yelled out, "INTRUDERS!!!" Clive went to get backup. Trance and Jowy quickly ran into a tent and a ladies voice sopke, "You two shouldn't be here, this is a tent only for royalty." "Whose saying that?!" asked Jowy. A girl stepped out and said, "I'm Ayame Blight, daughter of Agares Blight." The sound of Clive and a couple of soldiers interrupted their conversation. "Quickly you two, hide!" yelled Ayame. Clive entered the tent and asked her, "Have you seen two mischivous boys running around?" "I haven't seen anything this whole evening. Now leame my tene at once, your disturbing my privacy!" replied Ayame. Yes, at once my lady," said Clive. Trance and Jowy came out of their hiding places and headed to the door, " We must leave your highness." said Jowy. "Why must you leave so soon?" She asked.
