Education Is A Gift
... over. Class began and as expected the whole class was to go over the rules and policies set for the rest of the year. Much to my surprise this was exciting and fun. I found my teacher to be a comedian with a heart of gold. As class quickly came to an end, I left feeling a sense of joy and assertiveness; no one could stand in my way. I was going to make it my goal to earn the grades and have a fun experience with my high school career. First period set the bar high for interactive education and enjoyment in the classroom. No worries though, I had been encouraged to do my best. I had learned it doesn’t always have to be serious; there are ways to enjoy the lessons with the right attitude. As the year went on I came to learn this motivated man was also a wrestling coach at our school, as well as a PE teacher. He had a way about him that never created a dull moment no matter what the topic was. His compassion towards his job emitted endlessly from day to day. It’s the teacher who ultimately creates the student. By making a subject enjoyable you bring out the students willingness to learn and become an active part in discussion. Maybe it’s basing lessons with the world today, playing a game, or simply adding character to any discussions with a joke. The way you present yourself sets the tone for everyone else. Two years have passed by and I still will never forget the feeling I got when the bell rang each day before heading to his class. Mr. Clifford is a wonderful person and an extraordinary mentor. I trust in his opinion and hold myself to my priorities. He has shown me that schoo...
