...lic debates. Stalin was aware of Trotsky"'"s overwhelming popularity with the people, moreover Napoleon lacked public popularity due to his pushy ways. The following quote exemplifies the more admirable qualities Snowball possessed. '"'Snowball was a more vivacious pig than Napoleon, quicker in speech and more intensive.'"' Ironically, these two mortal enemies fought under the same banner. It appeared as though Stalin (Napoleon) lost public support everyday. He finally could take no more and had Trotsky (Snowball) banished from Russia (Animal Farm). However, Napoleon could not do this alone. He secretly trained nine dogs to literally kill on command. Stalin used a force called the KGB to eliminate Trotsky and kill those who questioned Napoleon"'"s actions. The KGB in conjunction with the NKVD is reflected in the actions of the dogs in Animal Farm. Napoleon used the dogs as his personal guards in the same way Stalin used the KGB (Kommit Gosudarstvennoi Bezopasnosti) as his personal police force. The KGB was made up of men who showed total dedication to Stalin. The men in this organization were absolutely ruthless in spying, torturing and executing Russian citizens. The members of the KGB were captivated by Stalin"'"s mind games, leaving them mindless and unable to decide actions on their own. Just as in Animal Farm, Napoleon teaches the dogs vicious mindsets in terrorizing the other animals and always doing what Napoleon says. The dogs showed pure dedication to Napoleon and would never hesitate on an order. The following exemplifies the total commitment and loyalty the dogs showed. '"'Napoleon stood sternly surveying his audience, then he uttered a high pitched whimper. Immediately the dogs bounded forward… When they had finished their confessions, the dogs promptly tore their throats out.'"' Fear ravaged the capitalist nations uncertain of what could happen to them. The communist regime showed great prosperity at first. Never before had a democratic society witnessed the degree of patriotism Russian citizens showed for their county. In Animal Farm the livestock would do anything to ensure the safety of animal farm, even if it cost them the ultimate sacrifice of their life. Neighbouring farms saw this loyalty and feared that their own livestock may want to rebel as well. At first the owners of neighbouring farms pretended to laugh at the thought of animals running a farm. These were nervous laughs; deep down they experienced great anxiety, fearing a rebellion on their own farms. '"'…Nevertheless, they (Pinchfelid, Fredric) were both thoroughly frightened by the rebellion on Animal Farm, and very anxious to prevent their animals from learning too much about it.'"' In democratic societies, leaders began to fear that their citizens would fall into a communist mindset. For example, in the 1930"'"s democratic leaders feared that many could view communism as a solution to the depression. This corresponds to the incidents of the pigeons spreading the word of Animalism to neighbouring farms in hopes of spreading the concept of Animalism, subsequently making the owners worried. Due to this concern, many democratic leaders refused to trade goods with Russia in an attempt to keep the publ...
