The first ghost that visited Ebenezer Scrooge was the ghost of Christmas past, the second, the ghost of Christmas present, and the third and last of the spirits, the ghost of yet to come. After these visits Ebenezer Scrooge decided to change his ways for good. To begin with I will discuss how Ebenezer Scrooge is presented before his meetings with the ghosts. Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable, unkind man, who is uncaring and inconsiderate; Scrooge owns a counting office, a cold dismal place with two small fires and one of which his clerk Bob Cratchit was so small ‘that it looked like one coal.’ Even to his own blood, his own nephew, Scrooge had shown no happiness or joy. Scrooge is visited by his dead business partner, Jacob Marley, who worked with him at Scrooge and Marley’s counting office, Marley had died seven years previously. Marley warned Scrooge about what would happen to him if he did not change his ways.
