...I will locate my shop in a place that does not have much competition but has a high population of Asians. I am going to call my shop Sindhoor. Location. There are two areas that I could locate my shop in, Wolverhampton (Dudley Road) or Birmingham (Soho Road). Wolverhampton is a large city that is home to a wide range of Asian families. This means that I will have many customers shopping at my shop. Dudley Road has quite a few Asian shops but there is only one Asian Bridal Wear shop, so I will not have a lot of competition. There is a large Gurdwara in Wolverhampton that will attract people from different parts of the country. This will increase the amount of customers that visit my shop and my profit. There is also a Mandir in Wolverhampton. Indian weddings are held in these buildings and when people go to these weddings, they will notice my shop. There is a large Community Centre on Dudley Road, which is used for Wedding parties. The competition found on Dudley Road is much less than the competition found on Soho Road. Dudley Road is a very good place for me to set up my business but there are a few disadvantages that I have to keep in my mind. Dudley Road is not a very large road and it is very quiet. It is found in Wolverhampton but it is not in the actual town centre. Dudley Road has poor parking facilities and the area is overcrowded with traffic. Dudley Road is found at the end of the town centre. Dudley Road does not have as many customers as Soho Road, which is a massive disadvantage. Dudley Road is also an untidier place than Soho Road. Birmingham is home to a larger amount of Asian families than Wolverhampton is. People from all over the country come to shop at Soho Road because it is a well-known street. Soho Road has an incredible amount of Indian suit shops, jewellers and sweet shops. There are quite a few Asian Bridal Wear shops on Soho Road, so I will have a lot of competition. Soho Road has an extremely large, beautiful Gurdwara. This Gurdwara is very famous and people from all sorts of locations come to worship here. Literally thousands of weddings take place on Soho Road’s Gurdwara, so people will notice my shop. However, there are also disadvantages for starting a business on Soho Road. Soho Road has a larger amount of competition than Dudley Road. If I do not become successful the first time I try opening a business, I may not have another chance to start a business again. However, if I am successful, then I will be able to expand my business and increase my profit. Birmingham and Wolverhampton both have quite similar economic characteristics. In Birmingham, 51.6% of the population is employed whereas in Wolverhampton 54.2% of the population is employed. This shows that there are more people in Wolve...
