Getting an A on a test is a good thing, but it may cause stress to get another one. Life is full of stress, its important to find a balance between the good and bad stress. Life changes and the stress they cause: Life's changes can cause a lot of stress. Death for example can be a very stressful experience, if someone close to you dies, you can feel lost and worried about how you'll live without them. If a parent dies, there may be worries about money and how things will get done. On the other hand, a new baby can be a very happy, but stressful situation, you may need to get a bigger house, or save more money. If you are a pregnant teenager, a baby could cause a huge amount of stress. How we respond to stress: Everyone responds to stress differently, some people may become ill. Some may become violent or depressed, everyone deals with it differently. Ways to avoid the negative effects of stress are by, exercising, watching your favorite television show, reading a book, or talking with someone. Sharing your feelings helps you understand them better and get a second perspective about situations. Signs of stress: Everyone shows different signs of stress. While mood changes occur, people also can appear sick, or breakout. Your body shows the signs of stress as a way of finding help. Headaches and stomach aches are the most frequent signs that stress is effecting your life negatively. Stress mechanism: The stress mechanism is how stress effects people in certain situations. Some situations cause more stress than others, death in the family, going to jail, and losing your job are considered some of the most stressful situations.
