For example, India's politicians and leaders showed common sense and restraint by not reacting rashly to neighbouring Pakistan’s acts of terrorism on Indian soil. The Indian leaders did not use excessive force or go overboard in their response to this intentional attack by Pakistan and hence won over the support of many neutral countries. This greatly strengthened India’s position internationally. Another reason for my belief that power should be used with caution is that people who use their to its maximum extent become too arrogant and pompous. They begin to think that they are superior to everybody else and become too attached to power. It is said that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Consider the example of Adolph Hitler, who became so obsessed with power that he wouldn't stop until he had the whole world under his power, committing many atrocities in the process. In case of business companies and commercial organizations, if the C.E.O's and mangers who use unchecked power and keep excessive control over their subordinates. then subordinates begin to feel supressed.They are like robots who only do what they are told to do, with their creativity being stifled. On the other hand if managers are less harsh and authoritative ,then subordinates will be encouraged to express their views more freely and be more creative and productive. Opponents of this view will argue that if mangers do not use their power fully then, subordinates will become lax and ill-disciplined.
