Finding your Bliss

...sy. They were pretending to be astronauts floating in the air as they jumped from the swing in mid air. I recall being that young doing the same thing. Just as you launch yourself and let go of the metal chains; time stops and you stop with it. That experience was on the top of the list for pleasure. And then one day you find yourself wondering out in the middle of no-where when you come to a stop. Something as Pfeifer Page 2 Breath-taking as a waterfall, or the stillness of water on a lake made of glass stand before you. The reflection from the tall evergreens, mirror their mass. The quietness from this place fills your body with satisfaction, fresh air, and peace. This is a blissful moment. Bliss is not weak or sad. It is far from lonely and deprived. Bliss is not a half-ass smile. It is everything that overcomes the sad parts of our lives. In bliss we find a way to forget the sad moments and move on with the great. While in Canada recently I became curious to explore downtown Vancouver. Without a map or any destination made to go; I drove threw the rainy city. I ended up in a park on the end of the city, the moment I stepped out of my car I felt a beam of sunlight hit every freckle on my face. I walked down to the shore of the English bay and looked out on the water. All the glass buildings seemed to shimmer from the light reflected by the water. Blue sky’s break threw the cloudy weather. The air was fresh and clean. Ships in the bay were now visible from a mile away. I could see everything that sat on the city, hills, and suburbs. For the time I spent in awe of my surroundings, I forgot that I was lost. I forgot that I was three-hundred miles away from home. Everything was frozen in time so that I could appreciate the intense vibrations this new place gave me. I have new perspective for a place that found me, rather than me finding it. I stopped to appreciate everything around me; hidden lagoons, acres of full trees, hiking paths, beaches, a swimming pool, viewpoints, and so much more to be discovered. The thing that separated this blissful Pfeifer Page 3 place from any other park in a city; was that this park felt like a forest on the beach, you almost forget there is a city connected to it.
