The towns’ people placed their faith on the old man as soon as they began thinking he was an angel, because he was supernatural they thought he could be their leader and savior. There is much likeness in today’s world with the way that people choose other humans to lead their country although they might be just as or even far more imperfect than they are. In the story, you didn’t always know if the old man was an angel or a human and people were amazed by him at first but when a bigger attraction came to town, they forgot about him completely. In today’s world people pick presidents and leaders, they praise them and are amazed with them at first but in years coming they find that they are human and therefore unable to fulfill the expectations, and as soon as a “better” candidate comes along, déjavu all over again. In the story, the parents who found the old man don’t pay attention to him and lock him up with the chickens, which might also signify the way that many parents don’t pay enough attention to their children because they are too busy with the every day life.
