...sters she did very well. On the day of her final results she came back from school with a pale face looking very dejected. She locked herself in her room and refused to talk to anybody. She was not willing to eat or drink. It was like a tragedy in our home. It took a lot of effort to get her to talk. Finally she showed me her report card which indicated that she had got only 25 marks in math and on it was written “failed”. She told me that she was distressed by the exam results and wondered as to why her overall performance was not taken into account. She told me that on the day of the exam she was shocked by everything. There were twelve problems which had to be solved in sixty minutes. Most of them were more difficult than the problems usually done in class. The teacher’s behavior was unusual. She had changed, so it seemed, from a smiling and caring person into an insensitive and demanding one. She hurried the students and provided no help in explaining a word or answering a question. She said, “Today is your exam, I cannot help.
