Christians believe that God sanctified human life by becoming human this is the reincarnation, Jesus’ suffering shows that life is not to be ended, but only when God decides. There are many people, Christian who do not value the gift of life. Most people respond emotionally when a new born baby is brought in to the world or an elderly person dies. Even though sometimes life seems hostile and difficult, it should always be valued. Ill or disabled people can sometimes cure life. People who are religious and people who are not have one difference about the sanctity of life; this is that religious people believe that life has an eternal purpose. The word Sanctity means purity, holiness. When the word sanctity is applied to the sacredness of life it expresses the fact that life is the most precious thing. Everyone was created in God’s image so when a life is taken not by God a piece of God himself is destroyed ‘surely you know that you are God’s temple and that God ‘s spirit live in you! So if anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you yourselves are his temple.’ (Corinthians 3:16-17). The taking of a life is a sin against God. Everyone is equal and should be treated the same and no one should have their life taken away from them unless taken by God, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself,’ people refer to this as the golden rule and the most important of the 10 commandments. God gave us stewardship over not only our lives but the lives of others around us as we are all equal and all made in the image of God. This is why life should be respected. Many Christians would say that life begins at conception and from this time should be valued and treated with all the respect that a life sent by God should have.
