Seashell Girl
...ut I couldn’t move. I stayed in my bed and stared at her. She gazed at me without saying a word for a while. Then like a white dove she flew away and disappeared slowly into the clouds. The next morning when I woke up, I found my dream was interesting and a little bit strange. Was that girl my preexistence? Did she come to my spirit before my birth? The following night was coming. It was pretty hot in those days. My hometown is a famous “Stove City” in China. It is located in southwest of China and basined. The famous YangZi River and JiaLing River meet here. Therefore it is unique hot and humid in the summer. The temperature was usually 35 degree before. After I grew up, the industry development and economic faster development caused a negative effect on the environment. The temperature increased to 40 degrees from 1990’s. Just sitting there on hot summer days, the sweat just keeps coming out. There was no air-conditioner was introduced into people’s life until 1994. I continued to sleep in the living room because I got better sleep. I had the same dream the next night again. The girl in white dress came to see me the same way. I wanted to get up and cry out but again I couldn’t move. She flew to see my slowly without saying one word. She gazed at me quietly. I was scared and shouted loudly. Then suddenly, I found there were some shells lying on the washing room’s floor. And I found out the girl was changed from the shell. Then I encouraged myself to run into washing room and cleaned them out with water. Immediately she disappeared finally. In China there was a popular of “ A Seashell Girl”.
