It is a distraction. • Also "junk mail" has now spread to mobiles with unwanted SMS being sent to your phone everyday. • Society has become too dependant on their mobile phones, recently a television program highltghed this by persuading celebrities to go without their phone for a month. Some could not even last the day. But why? Surely we managed to do this before!! • Royal mail have also been affected by the increasing trend in SMS messaging, recently a fall in letters being posted had decreased due to this. This is unfortunate because personally i feel that letter writing is a lot more personal, but why wait a day or two when you can get a reply in minutes. • Are we as a society becoming too impatient because of mobile phones? Changes in User Behaviour The effects on society closely ties in with user behaviour. • Peoples attitudes have changed and appear more anti-social, and arrogant with mobiles. People constantly walking around talking on phones. Why not simply phone from the house or visit them? Surely it would be more personal!! *Pressure has increased on people in society, especially teenagers. • Mobile phones are now viewed as a fashion item and it is almost essential to have the most recent and up to date mobile, out of fear of being ostricised.
