... in the shelter, where the women took the left side of the shelter and the men sat on the opposite side. The crying of the children got louder, as I could hear all different kinds of noises, one man calling his old mother whereas the other checking on his wife and children, and as the women talked beyond themselves. Second’s later silence took over the place, and all I could hear was the deafening noise of the planes flying above us, and the noises of the bombing which didn’t seem to be very far from where we were. I could see the mothers holding their children very tightly, and it was that moment where everyone started praying, and asking god for his protection. All different religions gathered together as they prayed for their safety and for the safety of their country. At that moment fear took over me as I realized how serious this was, all sorts of questions starting coming to me as I wondered whether or not my friends were ok, and whether my house would be safe. I wondered if this air strike would lead on to a full army invasion, and I started wondering if this was going to be similar to any other war which I’ve seen on TV. I felt very weak for I couldn’t do anything, and I hated that. After about 3 hours we heard the sirens go again as it announced the end of the air strike. The people started wondering about what sort of damages there was, about how many people got killed and whether or not their relatives were ok.
