...hen it makes us look like we aren’t mature and ready until the age of 21. For example: There are two countries, One with the drinking age at 21 and the other with the drinking age at 18. Are you going to want to be part of a country who can’t handle consequences and responsibility? Or are you going to want to be part of a country who can drink maturely and know their limits? Many of the other countries’ age limits are 18 years or older leaving the United States alone on the decision to ban alcohol on people under the age of 21. When you turn 18 you are able to drive, see a dirty movie, go to a strip club, buy cigarettes, vote, etc. Another important fact is when you turn 18 you are considered an adult and will be tried as an adult. But you can’t drink. I have a friend who joined the United States Army. He’s 19 and the thing that really gets to me is that he can die in honor for his country, but he can’t have a beer. Another thing is if the drinking age were changed to 18 then there wouldn’t be kids trying to hide their drinks and try to chug their beers before the cops chase them or their parents see them. Maybe even the “coolness” of drinking for teenagers would fade away and make them turn the other cheek. There wouldn’t be those kids begging you to buy them a bottle of Absolu...
