A SUNDAY AT THE PARK
...o dates yet. I decided to inhale my food and get the hell out and go home. 1:45 I walked out of the establishment and proceeded to walk along Session Road which was an impossible task to do because by this time the sidewalks were filled with people! I decided to just buy the Sunday Edition of The Philippine Star and go to Pizza Volante to kill time and wait till the crowd subsides. My timing could not be better. As I walked in to Pizza Volante a couple was about to leave. I grabbed their recently vacated table and propped myself in one of their chairs. The Place was packed! I ordered me a tall glass of iced tea and proceeded to do my observation of the people passing by. From my table, I had a good vantage point to observe the different people walking by. All sorts of life were within my reach to observe. Some merchants were selling what look to me as Persian carpets. The going price was 1000.00 pesos. It was a fake. Some poor kids in tattered clothes were begging for money. Or should I say hustling for money. Lots of young lovers, mostly college students are walking holding hands. Some even have the audacity to show P.D.A. (Public Display of Affection). Some were necking, and yet some were kissing! How the world has change so much (for the better or for the worst – you be the judge)! Families of different numbers were all part of the mix. Inside Pizza Volante by my left side were three women who looks old to be my grandma were talking about breast augmentation and how one of them plans to have the procedure done to her by next February. Judging from their demeanor, these three women are socialites. The olfactory of my sensitive nose smelled Channel No. 5 in one of them. The same perfume that my grandma wear all the time.
