Believing in Oneself

.... Without those lessons, it would have not been possible to be where I am today. In a few months, I will be graduating as valedictorian of my class with a 4.0 grade point average. It was a struggle for me, I was not a natural scholar, I had to learn good study habits. I had to learn that believing in myself was as important as the study habits. Along the way to valedictorian, there were many times when I was tempted to question my quest for that honor. I passed up many opportunities to "play and party" in order to study for exams, to work on a project, or to get the needed rest for school. Sometimes, I was even the object of ridicle for my stand.
